What is a BeMS?

A Building Energy Management System (BeMS) monitors and controls energy powered services, such as air-conditioning, heating and ventilation, to ensure the building is operating at maximum levels of efficiency, whilst removing wasted energy usage and, in turn, associated costs.

How is this done? The optimal efficiency level is achieved by continuously maintaining the correct balance between operating requirements, external and internal environmental conditions, and energy usage.

How can a BeMS help you?

Cost saving

Now more than ever, owners and tenants are under pressure to manage energy usage more efficiently, in order to reduce business costs and lower carbon emissions.

A BeMS can efficiently control up to 84% of your building’s energy consumption. Better yet, the system runs automatically, day in, day out, all year round, with minimal interaction required.

Control energy usage

With the correct utility consumption measurements, a BEMS will enable you to identify usage patterns, manage these against desired levels, before helping you to adjust control or remove waste.

Prevent issues from becoming problems

A BeMS receives and communicates varying levels of alarm conditions in real-time, allowing building owners to track conditions and react as soon as possible if a problem arises.

Provide your staff with the environment they thrive in

Globally, buildings are subjected to changeable weather conditions. This is why BeMS provide owners with the data they need to control and monitor their building when the temperatures drop, ensuring your workforce are in the right environment for them to thrive.

Ensure building continuity

For many businesses, ‘system down time’ is not an option e.g. Data Centres or Healthcare practices. Meaning systems must be reliable enough to adapt or expand with the customer’s needs.

Help you meet CSR objectives

A BEMS will provide reports and demonstrate visually how energy usage and carbon emissions are being reduced, helping to meet legislative and corporate social responsibility demands.

The Optimised BeMS Proposition

BeMS (Building energy Management Systems) are typically associated with the control of HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) in commercial buildings, and this has been their primary role in the eyes of most clients and operators. Over the past number of years, we have now taken this to another level with the introduction of the ‘Optimised BeMS’ proposition.
